SUMP PUMP BACKUP

Single Sump Pump - Plug your AC sump pump and switch into the back of the DRYTROL®II sump pump battery backup unit.  Add a separate vertical float backup switch near the top of the sump pit.  This serves as a backup switch to the sump pump switch and will also trigger an alarm.  

Dual Parallel Sump Pumps - Plumb in a second standard AC sump pump at the bottom of the sump pit at the same level as the first sump pump.  Add a separate vertical float switch near the top of the sump pit for triggering a high water alarm.  The second sump pump is cycled regularly on a cycle count basis when operating on household power, keeping it ready should the first sump pump or switch ever fail.  Less running time means the second sump pump should ideally outlast the first sump pump, providing ample time for replacement. Other brands that alternate the sump pumps equally increase the risk of both sump pumps failing at about the same time.

Dual Staggered Sump Pumps - Space permitting, plumb in a second standard AC sump pump at a higher level than the first sump pump using the stand provided.  The stand has a base and shelf, which elevates the sump pumps to help prevent debris from clogging the pump intake.  Add a separate vertical float switch near the top of the sump pit for triggering a high water alarm.  The second pump is cycled regularly on a cycle count basis when operating on household power, keeping it ready should the first sump pump or switch ever fail.  Less running time means the second sump pump should ideally outlast the first sump pump, providing ample time for replacement.  Other brands that alternate the sump pumps equally increase the risk of both sump pumps failing at about the same time.
